I am an evolutionary geneticist with a primary interest in systematics, molecular phylogenetics and phylogeography (including both plants and animals) but also in botanical ecology and botany in general with a focus on the Eurasian steppe region and Eurasian terrestrial orchids. After several years as a post-doc at the University of Debrecen, I was the head of a research group of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences based at Debrecen, then became a university lecturer and researcher at this university in a permanent position. I am using phylogenomic and phylogenetic methods in evolutionary research. Still, I am also working in phylogeography and population genetics, with a strong interest in the conservation part of the genetic/genomic works.
